- LUXALON SHINES IN SMIRK SHOWROOM
Exclusive,
cutting-edge, individual: Smirk kitchen showrooms
feature the very best in modern kitchen design. When
the company opened a new showroom in London, it chose
Luxalon aluminium ceilings to complement its stunning
displays.
The
ceiling is the perfect space to create a bold feature
or continue an overall theme for bathrooms, bedrooms,
kitchens or living areas. The Smirk designers selected
a Luxalon gloss white ceiling for the showroom. Its
clean lines and simplicity provided the perfect complement
to the stunning glass and stainless steel features
of the units and fittings.
“Aluminium
ceilings offer an interesting alternative to clients,
broadening the options in their kitchen,” says
Chris Organ, director of Smirk. “Compared to
other systems, we found Luxalon’s range to be
far more design oriented and the high gloss finish
of the ceiling tied the whole room together and created
a sense of balance. We are now planning to fit a new
area of the showroom with a different finish to show
more of what can be achieved.”
While
the ceiling panels look superb in a contemporary setting,
they can also be used to dramatic effect in traditional
interiors. The choice of widths and styles, combined
with a broad palette of colours and reflective finishes,
offers the scope to suit all design schemes. Innovative
patterns such as diagonal panels can be used to add
an extra twist and the ceilings can be integrated
with low voltage, LED and fibre optic lighting as
required. The Smirk showroom designers, for instance,
chose to include functional metal lighting in the
panels.
The
ceilings really come into their own for refurbishment
as they can be installed very easily and offer tremendous
scope and flexibility. All the systems are easily
fixed to plasterboard or can be suspended. On a practical
level, they are an excellent choice in areas where
condensation occurs, such as bathrooms, wet rooms,
utility areas and kitchens. Being condensation resistant,
they can easily be cleaned with a damp cloth, and
unlike traditional plaster ceilings, need no additional
maintenance. |
